Our Story
Craft Smart was founded in 2010 by a small group of artists and designers who were passionate about making art accessible and affordable. We started out with just 10 colors of acrylic paint and a vision: to foster creativity in people from all walks of life.
In those early days, we operated out of a small warehouse, filling orders by hand and driving them to the post office ourselves. But we quickly found an audience of crafters, DIYers, students, and budding artists who loved our products. Within a few years, we expanded our line to include yarns, clay, fabric paint pens, and other essential art supplies.
As demand grew, we moved operations into a bigger facility and brought on more team members. But even as we’ve expanded, we’ve stayed true to our roots. We’re still a company run by artists, fueled by a shared belief in the power of creativity.
Today, Craft Smart offers over 1,000 unique products that enable artistic expression. While we’ve grown into an internationally recognized arts and crafts brand, we remain proudly independent. Our tight-knit team works hard to source innovative materials, test new product ideas, and find ways to make quality art supplies accessible to all.

Our acrylic paints feature an improved acrylic polymer formula that retains vivid color and resists cracking and chipping when dry.
Craft Smart® Yarn
Premium quality 100% acrylic yarns, available in a rainbow of colors. Our 4-ply worsted weight yarn features a soft, anti-pill fiber that’s easy to crochet or knit. We also offer bulky and jumbo weight yarns for cozy blankets and statement pieces.
Craft Smart® Fabric Paint Pens
Paint pens with brilliant permanent fabric paint formulas that adhere to natural and synthetic fabric. The versatile tip effortlessly paints broad strokes or intricate detail work. Available in 50+ colors with a range of tip styles and sizes.
Craft Smart® Natural Air Dry Clay
